I believe that healthy relationships are essential to our personal lives and to our communities. Relationships take time, effort, careful handling and real love, but sometimes we find our relationships broken and painful. The good news is, there is always hope for change and healing. As a marriage and family therapist, I most enjoy helping couples and families navigate life’s challenges in a way that strengthens and empowers their relationships. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches that are tailored to each client’s needs including Emotion Focused, Cognitive Behavioral and Family Systems.
I have several years’ experience working with families from a variety of cultural/ethnic backgrounds and a special interest in helping families experiencing separation, divorce, co-parenting, step-parenting, adoption and pre-marital preparation. I also do individual counseling for those suffering with depression and anxiety issues.
I also have over 12 years of clinical social work experience as a parenting evaluator, case manager and child advocate specialist. I am an experienced trainer/instructor in multicultural issues and other topics related to mental health and family systems.
As a Christian therapist, I welcome those of all faiths and will integrate Christian faith and principles in your sessions if it is your desire. No matter what specific life circumstance you are in, my work with you will always be infused with hope, humor, compassion, and a safe listening ear.
